	Gymnastics PARTY CRAFT IDEAS
Balance Beam From Craft sticks A gymnastics party includes many fun games and good times. Most of the party will revolve around being active and energetic. Why not slow it down and be creative for a breather? Materials You Will Need • 2 regular sized craft sticks (popsicle sticks) • 2 large sized crafts sticks • Decorative materials (stickers, glitter, paints, etc.) • 2 craft “pipe cleaners” • White Glue/Hot Glue gun • Scissors This would be a great party craft for children that are 4 years or more. First, you will take your 2 regular craft sticks and cut them in half. Take one of your large craft sticks and glue two of the regular sized craft stick halves to the end of the larger craft stick. Make sure you glue the rounded edges to the larger stick. This allows for the balance beam to stand on a flat base. Do the same with the other large craft stick and remaining pieces. After you have that assembled, glue the two remaining round ends together (opposite side of the legs you just assembled). As you can see, the large craft sticks form the balance beam and the smaller ones are the legs. Next, take your two pipe cleaners and make a figure of a person including a circle for the head, a straight torso and simple legs and arms. This will be your gymnast. You can either glue the gymnast on the balance beam, or you can leave it off and play with it. This will keep the kids entertained for a while and offers them something to take home as well.
