Halloween Party Games

Aside from lots and lots of candy, all kids who attend Halloween parties will expect their share of spooky good homemade cookies.

Homemade cookies for a Halloween party should remind young guests of those symbols and emblems that ‘scream’ All Hallow’s Eve. These could include pumpkins and jack o’lanterns, ghosts, ghouls and monsters, haunted houses, ravens and crows, and black cats. Just make sure that these images are more cute than scary, to accommodate young guests.

The host could decorate homemade Halloween cookies with crystal sprinkles and icing flourishes in classic holiday colors like black, orange and gold. Make sure that the colors stay true to the objects they represent; you could cover the cat and raven cookies with dark chocolate icing, for example, the ghost cookie with icing of ivory vanilla, or the jack o’lantern cookie with thick orange icing and smaller ebony flourishes added to simulate the eyes, nose and smile. Raisins and chocolate kisses also could be applied to make an adorable pumpkin face.

Aside from some Halloween homemade cookies that are ‘scary yummy,’ young guests should also get a kick (or maybe even a boo) out of some fun and festive Coloring Pages. They will get some ghoulish fun out of coloring in images of brightly dressed trick or treaters and moonlit pumpkin patches; and if they are not old enough to help carve the jack o’lantern, these kids can at least color some jackos—not to mention some black cats and multicolored scarecrows! Just like the Halloween candy, young guests just won’t get enough of Halloween Coloring Pages.
