Hansel and Gretel is part of the Grimm’s Fairytale collection. It is of German origin and tells of a tale of a witch that eats children. A brother and sister get left in the forest by their stepmother and find a house made of candy. This house belonged to the witch. As the hungry children eat the candy, the witch invites them in. Because the old witch cannot see very well, the children trick her and close her in an oven. They are able to escape and take jewels back to their starving father.
