The Hawaiian Luau came about as the result of King Kamehameha II ending the law against women eating with men when he and Princess Kaahumano ate together in 1819. The Hawaiian Luau became a celebration of everyone feasting together and the abolishment of old religious Kapo or rules keeping the women from eating with the men.
The free printable Hawaiian Luau Coloring Pages are a fun way to keep the kids
occupied at the dinner table or a party. Hawaiian Luau party planning can be given an elegant touch by using white tablecloths covered with ferns and leaves. Beautiful tropical scented floral centerpieces and bamboo place mats also ad to this classy Hawaiian Luau look. Some traditional Hawaiian Luau foods are kalua pork (slow roasted pork rubbed with sea salt and liquid smoke), bread fruit, coconut, vegetables and poi (the traditional Hawaiian staple, pounded boiled taro root). Match the coloring
page to your parties theme. Keep the drawings and laminate them. Then
use them for placemats at next years Hawaiian Luau celebration. |
