COOKIES

For homemade Indianapolis 500 theme cookies, how about choosing no-bake petits fours that you make to look like fat racing tires?
Your homemade Indianapolis 500 theme cookies can start with one frozen pound cake, and the rest is in the decoration. Just trim the top of the cake off, so that it is flat. Cut off all of the crust, then cut in half horizontally. Then cut the halves lengthwise, and then crosswise, to make twenty squares. Now you will need to cut off the square edges, or use a cookie cutter to make them round. Then place your round wheels on a cookie sheet that is lined with waxed paper. Now it’s time to make them look like wheels of the Indianapolis 500.
Your homemade Indianapolis 500 cookies need some black frosting, white frosting, and some silver balls to make them look more authentic. The black frosting can be substituted with dark chocolate, if desired. Cover the cookie on all sides, but you can leave the bottom uncovered, if you like. Add the white frosting for the look of whitewalls, and some silver balls for the lug nuts.
Of course, your guests will need to use a little imagination, but once they taste your homemade Indianapolis 500 theme cookies, they won’t care how authentic they look. These no-bake petit fours look like cookies, and can be used for so many different themes, whether you need them to be square, round, or star-shaped. And with the help of cookie cutters, there is no end to how you can use this quick, easy recipe. |
