Homemade Indianapolis 500 Party Game

In honor of the Indianapolis 500 create a simple homemade game all the party guests will enjoy playing. To create a Indianapolis 500 game draw a track on a large piece of white cardboard. Decorate the cardboard with markers and/or paint. Around the board place checkered flags, racecars, and other racing car memorabilia. Cut out pictures of Formula 1 racecars and place tape on the back of them. Those who have racecars can also use them as game pieces as well. Lay the cardboard track on a large table or hang on the wall. Inside the racetrack, divide the track into numbered sections such as 1-50. Dice will be needed to move the cars to the numbered spaces. For example, if the dice rolls a 3 then the car, which rolled a 3 moves 3, spaces forward and so on. To make the game more interesting add a pit stop, blown tire, out of gas etc. The player who lands on such squares misses his or her turn next time around. Select a desired number of laps around the track and the player who crosses the finish line first is the winner. In addition, the more players who participate in this fun game the better.

Another homemade Indianapolis 500 game can be played by created a racing track for children. Set up cones, trashcans and other home items and have them race around as fast as possible. The child who finishes the desired number of laps is the winner. Ensure there is plenty of space for the children to avoid injury.
