Your little birthday girl loves Justin Bieber, so she'd be sure to love a handmade Justin Bieber pinata! In just a few simple steps, you can complete this project and have a pinata that she will love.
For this project, you'll need liquid starch, a stack of newspaper, a knife, scissors, masking tape, glue, a roll each of blue and silver ribbon, yarn, and a mold, such as a cookie tin or cereal box, depending on what shape you want the pinata to be in (just make sure it's something you don't need to use anymore).
Cover your workspace in newspaper or plastic covering and wear clothes you don't mind getting messy. Tear the newspaper into strips (along the grain), about three inches long. Dip one strip into the starch, drain it off a bit, and lay it flat on your mold. Continue laying strips of wet paper mache onto the mold until you have one solid layer, free of air bubbles and gaps. Allow this to dry over night (or even up to two days, depending on the climate). When dry, cover the mold with another layer of paper mache. Allow this to dry as well.
When it's all dry, cut the pinata in half. Remove the mold, and then take the two halves back together.
Take a big enough picture of Justin Bieber (From a magazine, poster, etc. You can print it online but make sure it's a high quality image). Cut it to the shape of your pinata and glue it to the front.Take the scissors and curl the blue ribbon. Glue or staple the ribbon all over the pinata.
Take the knife and cut a small hole in the top to put candy in. Poke a few holes in the top and string the yarn through to hang up the pinata. Your pinata is now ready for the party!
