Who says one has to celebrate Kwanzaa in order to participate in homemade Kwanzaa party games. Printables are a great way to introduce Kwanzaa to children because they can learn about the important symbols of Kinara or The Candle Holder (symbolizes roots, parent people and continental Africans), Kikombe cha Umoja or The Unity Cup (celebrants drink from this cup in honor of their African ancestors. Before drinking, each person says harambee, or let us pull together) and so on. Crossword puzzles, word search games, word scrambles games are all available for Kwanzaa homemade party games.
Kwanzaa homemade party games can be spun from traditional party games such as pin the tail on the donkey, balloon pop, scavenger hunt and so on. For example, hide native African fruits and vegetables around the area such as bananas, melons, mangos, pineapple, grapefruits, and ears of corn. Give the players only a few minutes to find as many fruits as possible. The player who brings the most fruits back is the winner and gets first choice of the fruit they want to eat.
Black, red, and green balloons can be used for a variety of Kwanzaa homemade party games. Balloon Pop is a simple game in which players much pop as many balloons as they can without using their hands. Line up the children and on go, one player from each team races to the chairs with a balloon and pops it. The player then rushes back and tags their partner and the game repeats. The team who pops the selected number of balloons is the winning team.
