Labor Day Party Games

Labor Day stands as an annual celebration of the working person; and what hardworking professional doesn’t love to snack down on some yummy homemade cookies.

Homemade cookies for a Labor Day party could be virtually any color or flavor; and they would be particularly theme relevant if they took the shape of symbols that one associates with the work experience. Using specialized cookie cutters or molding them by hand, the host could create the baked likenesses of everything from hammers to typewriters, construction hats to computers. Or, if such cookie cutters are hard to find, she could create an iced portrait of any or all of these symbols on the surface of each cookie.

Another option for Labor Day homemade cookies may be a bit less ‘labor’ intensive. The host could, for example, take a standard batch of round cookies and lay them out on a plate to form the words “Happy Labor Day” or simply “Labor Day.” Or she could distribute the cookies to guests in decorative gift bags or on painted plates which bear these same general messages. She also could adorn each individual cookie with a small plastic token which reads “Happy Labor Day.”

Even kids can participate in a Labor Day party; not only helping to devour the homemade cookies, but by decorating some playful, theme-relevant Coloring Pages. In fact, giving children a fun and educational coloring book that contains images of hardworking people could not only entertain them during the party, it could benefit them greatly in the long run. While filling in Coloring Pages that show doctors, lawyers and craftspeople, they may be inspired to learn more about these wonderful careers.
