It is often difficult to entertain kids at New Year's Parties, but these simple crafts will help them let the countdown begin, and keep them in the holiday spirit!

• Paper plate
• Black craft foam
• Metal fastener
• Foam number stickers
• Black marker
• White glue

Decorate your plate with glitter and glue, if you want, and allow to dry. Stick on numbers to form your clock. Cut clock hands from black foam. Attach hands with metal fastener. Allow guests to let the countdown begin, and participate by moving the clock hands as the hours pass bringing them closer and closer to the new year!

Festive Noise Makers Let the Countdown Begin!
To keep youngsters occupied on New Year's Eve, allow them to make these fun and festive noise makers. For this craft, you will need:

• Miniature paper plates (colored or plain)
• Paper streamers or crepe paper
• Craft jewels, beads, glitter, paint, markers, glue, bits of lace, buttons, etc.
• Scissors
• Beans

If you would like to paint your plate, or add glitter, do that, and let it dry, then fold in half, and crease at the center.

Cut streamers into 5 or 6 inch lengths. Glue them to one side of the plate's edge, allowing most to remain outside the plate. Place a handful of beans into the plate. Glue the plate edge, and fold closed. Decorate the outside with whatever crafting supplies or beads you have. When dry, this forms a perfect noisemaker for letting the countdown begin!
