Madagascar COOKIES

To make homemade Alex from Madagascar cookies begin by selecting a desire cookie recipe. Cut the shape of Alex’s head or use a circular shaped cookie. Once the cookies are baked and cooled, begin applying the details of Alex. Draw Alex’s features on using a food marker. This will be used as a guideline to help limit mistakes. Use brown, yellow, or black royal icing in a pastry bag and apply over the food marker. Let the outline dry for at least one hour and the flooding of the icing can begin. Flood the yellow and brown icing as carefully as possible and spread the icing around using a toothpick. For Alex’s eyes and teeth, apply the white royal icing last and over the yellow or brown icing once dry. Small details such as Alex’s whiskers can be left out or apply with a small pastry bag tip in black royal icing. Once completed, let the cookies dry over night and the following day they are ready to be enjoyed by the party guests, making larger cookies may provide the party host with an easier time making the cookies. Adding details to smaller cookies may prove to be difficult. Larger cookies also make wonderful party favor for party guests. Wrap Alex or other Madagascar characters in clear plastic bags tied with c ruling ribbon to keep close and a thank you card. Party favors shows guests how much their presence was appreciated surely.
