Personalized Medieval invitations can be really fun. You could word the invitation as if it was for the Lords and Ladies inviting them to a banquet and dance. The invitation can be handwritten or printed on paper that looks like parchment. It should then be tied with a ribbon. On the other hand it could be folded and sealed with wax. The wording would be something like “Lord John Greyson, it is with the greatest pleasure that Lord and Lady Frank Wilson, invite you to dine and dance with them on the evening of May third, at half past the hour of seven.” Your guests will enjoy the invitation and it will serve to set the mood.

When To Mail the Invitations
Mail the invitations at least three to four weeks in advance for a medieval party. While some parties may only need two weeks advance notice, a medieval party may take more time for the guests to prepare. That will be especially true if it is a costume party and the guests need a little time to get their costumes together. If the party will look like a medieval feast, you as the party planner will also need time to get it together. That job will be much easier once your guests reply to the invitations. So mail your invitations in time for the guests to respond.

Medieval Thank You Notes
On the thank you notes, continue the party fun by wording it as if the Lord and Lady were thanking their guests for coming. The thank you notes could look very much like the invitations, with the scroll or folded and wax sealed format. Just a little smaller.
