For the Mickey Mouse cake, begin with an idea of what the cake should look like. Draw a few sketches out first and select a simple yet interesting looking cake. The cake can be made to look like Mickey cut out in his form, a multilayered cake with Mickey colors, or just Mickey’s face. For a multi-layered Mickey Mouse cake, use fondant to cover the cake layers so to ensure the cake presents a professional, sleek look to it. For decorative touches, cut out three circles and make mini Mickey silhouettes around the in red, black, yellow, or white colors. For the cake toppers, make Mickey out of fondant or use Mickey Mouse toys and other Mickey Mouse party supplies. Choose a simple Mickey Mouse design but one that is well made.

Ever since we were kids ourselves, we can most likely concur that those Mickey Mouse pancakes always tasted slightly better than the average pancakes derived from the same batch. Since that day in age, we may have grown up and Mickey Mouse himself has taken on some changes, but through it all, our kids still love those cakes as much as we did when we were little. Getting creative with food is not only a perk to being a parent but at times a necessity to helping the finicky eater appreciate what has been laid out in front of them for a meal. Most hosts will find that from making a guest list to preparing the food, having a plan will make the celebration go off without a hitch. Simple hostess tip: Prepare for the entire celebration in advance and avoid adding any extra commitments or stress on the hostess during the preparation period. This simple tip will ensure that the hostess has a stress free and very entertaining time during the actual celebration.

The most obvious way to incorporate Mickey into a breakfast meal is with pancakes which would certainly be fun after the kids have had a slumber party, but keep in mind also that other closely related foods withhold the same potentials. Waffles are easily cut down to Mickey shapes. Oranges and many different rounded fruits can easily be molded into the three familiarly recognized circles. The ketchup of hash browns draws a Mickey Mouse Figure rather easily and the biscuits of biscuits and gravy are already formed into circles for you to arrange as well. If you happen to be frying some eggs that is another situation ready for the molding. The possibilities are endless.

When you feel confident in expanding your abilities beyond the three rings, there are other figures you can help your child imagine in their food as well. Sponge-Bob is merely a square with some arms and legs while Garfield can be a big oblong blob. Even if you don’t know how to make something, be sure and ask your child how they might go about making their request. You might be surprised at the amount of ingenuity they have themselves. Nevertheless, have fun. Not only do these exercise the child and parents imagination but it also creates an atmosphere of engaging fun conversation; something that will prove to be memorable and invaluable in the future as you grow with your child.

Mickey Mouse may have a bit of a checkered past considering he was originally created as a stand in for the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon. Most people are amazed at the history behind many of the shows from the present and past. Like others before them the times of past and the recordings are often as interesting now as they were many years ago. For this reason, fans of the show have held strong and their popularity has continued to grow. It began as Disney asked for more money for the Oswald project and was told that he could continue his Oswald the Rabbit series but only if he agreed to the aforementioned budget cut. Since Oswalds creator Mintz owned Oswald and had never been on the payroll he really thought he had Disney over the barrel. However, he wasn't prepared for when Disney completely rejected him and began to create a character to replace him and his work.

The original staff that helped to create the history of Mickey Mouse included Ub Iwerks as well as his loyal co worker and apprentice Les Clark. The following spring of 1928, Disney approached Ub and asked him to begin the process of creating new character ideas for him to choose from. Although Ub tried various sketches and different animals such as cows, horses and cats nothing really seemed to take with Disney.

However Disney himself offered the background history for the mouse that would later become the iconic Mickey from his experience with a pet mouse that he used to own on his old farm. Although his chosen name for this mouse creation was Mortimer Mouse, his wife talked him down to a more people friendly name and thus Mickey Mouse in name was born. However this is not without its own controversy as Mickey Rooney after a visit with Disney himself claimed that the mouse was named after him.
