Minnie Mouse began her stint through history as a different name. Minerva Mouse was her original moniker. Like Mickey Mouse, Minnie was created by Ub Iwerks in collaboration with Disney. In a comic named Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers which debuted in 1930, Minerva Mouses father, and Mother, Marcus Mouse and Margie Mouse respectively were both introduced as farmers. In addition, her grandparents Matilda and Marshall Mouse were also introduced, however, her twin nieces Melody and Millie remained her favorite family members.
Minnie Mouses history is often appearing in the Mickey Mouse cartoon as Mickeys wife. Notably she also appears in other episodes as just a friend to Clarabelle Cow. Minnie Mouse also has a lesser known sister in Mandie Mouse who was also a character who made many guest appearances.
Minnie Mouses original history began as she was designed in the flapper fashion. Her first and main fashion statement was wearing the female version of a bowler hat with her signature daisy sprouting from the top. In some of the cartoons of 1929 she was revealed wearing black stockings as well, right along with her oversized signature black pumps. Minnies show woes have even made their own episode creation such as in The Galloping Gaucho where she actually just walked right out of her shoes. Another of Minnie Mouse's signature features was her pants. Although they were often visible under her dress it was the square patch on the rump of her shorts that had fans fascinated for decades to come.
