Handmade MLB Baseball Pinatas

Those who never made a piñata before should not fret because it is a simple process that requires very little know how. To make a baseball bat piñata us a long cardboard tube as the center. Around the tube place long balloons and tape down. To make the end of the bat use a 2-3 smaller long balloons, connect at each end, taped together. Connect the end and the main part of the bat together with tape. Once taped, start using paper mache to cover the baseball bat. Apply one layer and let dry over night and apply a second and third.

Before the final layer is applied, fill the bat with candy in the bottom of the baseball bat with candy, remove the tube, and apply more paper mache to the open area. Paint (acrylic) or use tissue for the baseball bat in a wood grain color or in the celebrant’s favorite team colors. Painting takes less time but traditional piñatas have tissue paper. Allow the baseball piñata to sit over night so the tissue paper and the paint can dry. Blindfold the children and let them have at the homemade baseball bat piñata.
