Handmade Motocross Pinatas

Motocross theme party will make the future motocross superstar ecstatic with excitement. A homemade motocross bike piñata can be the highlight of the evening – first it must be made. To make motocross bike begin by cutting newspaper into 1-inch thick strips and dip them into the paste. The motocross bike will consist of two skinny balloons for the handlebars (the same balloons to make balloon animals), three skinny balloons for the frame, two round balloons for the wheels, and a round balloon for the engine. Cover the balloons with the newspaper strips, leaving holes where the candy will go (the holes do not have to be just in the base but in the wheels as well). Apply three layers of paper mache to the motocross bike. Pop the balloons and attach the pieces of the bike together using more strips of newspaper strips dipped in paste. Allow the motocross bike to dry completely and then apply the tissue paper.

How to decorate the motocross bike is up to the one decorating. An easy fringe look can be made by cutting tissue paper in 3"x30" pieces. Fold each group of 3"x30" pieces lengthwise and make a 1" cut every 1/2 " along the strip. Separate the fringe pieces from each other. Spread glue onto the lower third of the piñata and stick fringe pieces on one at a time, starting with the first piece at the bottom with the fringe down. Add another layer so the fringe overlaps enough to cover the fold of the layer before. Always start from the bottom of the piñata and work up. Use black tissue paper for the wheels and so on.
