Nautical parties are fun for both kids and adults. For a kid’s party you can make cutouts of a ship and then outline it with a black marker. Write the party info on the back and slip several crayons in the envelope with the invitation so the kids and color them. For both kids and adults it would be fun to send a sailor hat with the invitation. They could wear it to the party. For an adult party try writing a quiz with nautical fun facts on the invitation or including it in the envelope. The guests could bring it to the party and get a party favor if they answered all the questions correctly.

Hand Delivered Nautical Party Invites
Hand delivering nautical invitations would be really fun. Dress as a sailor or as the captain of a ship and deliver the invitations to your guests. The invitation itself could be to a party aboard the “U.S.S. Party time” or a ticket to a voyage on the “U.S.S. Good Times”. Your guests will enjoy both the invitation and the fact that you showed up dressed in nautical attire to hand deliver it.

When To Mail the Invitations
Mail you invitation no more than four weeks ahead of the party and no less than two weeks ahead. Any more than four weeks and the guests may forget. Any less than two weeks and the guests may already have other plans. You have to take into consideration if there will be many other parties during that same time. Also consider how long you will need between getting the replies back and making the party preparations.
