Handmade Nautical Party Favors

Homemade party favors like sailboat candy holders are perfect accents for nautical theme parties. From baby showers to graduation the nautical theme can be adapted to any type of parties and are perfect for kids as well as adults.

For sailboat candy holders you will need rectangular tin boxes, cardstock paper, toothpicks or straws, paint and glue.

Rectangular tin boxes are available in any party supplies stores and you will need only the base of the boxes. To start with paint the box in nautical theme colors, blue and white stripes or dots would look good. Cut triangular shapes using cardstock. Make sure that the size of the triangles is proportionate to the size of the box. Paint these triangles to match or contrast with the colors and designs on the boxes. You can even stick nautical theme stickers or print the initials of the guest of honor on the sails. Attach this sail to a toothpick and affix it to the inside of the box with a piece of clear tape. Fill the box with candies and arrange them on a table for your guests to enjoy.

Decorative jars filled with pebbles or sea shells would also make wonderful handmade party favors for a nautical theme party.

Get organza or tulle favor bags in clear or white colors and fill them up with white and blue candies. Tie up the favor bags with blue or white satin ribbons and attach a decorative tag in the shape of an anchor or sea shell to make elegant handmade party favors.
