The start of another year on New Years Eve should spark conversation about how this upcoming year will be different. What will you do to make it more joyful, successful, and memorable? Ask others at the party, and you may be surprised to see that they had not yet thought of that, but now they will.

Resolutions are also a part of New Years Eve. You can ask people what their resolutions are. Some may not do resolutions anymore, as they don’t seem to be able to keep to them. Others may have a whole hatful of resolutions that they intend to adhere to. This may bring up many reasons why they want to change their lives so much. Newlyweds may love things just the way they are. Divorced people will have a very different outlook for the new year.

Whatever you talk about on New Years Eve, keep it happy. There should always be hope for the coming year, and there is always a chance that a real change could save our country from its debt problems, and people from their financial woes.

Of course, there is always the very interesting subject of whether or not the world will end in 2012. Some believe it will end in May, others in December on a certain day. Talk of this is not necessarily gloomy, as you will find. The theory of the earth coming to an end is actually laughable to most. Maybe it’s because if we are all dying at once, nothing will really matter after that.
