Handmade NFL Football Pinatas

NFL Football theme party with a homemade NFL football piñata will make any little fan the happiest on Earth. Creating a football piñata is very simple and a whole lot of fun to make.

To make a football piñata use one long balloon and two smaller round balloons. Blow up the balloons and stick the small round ones on the top and the bottom of the long one with glue. Use masking tape and go from one end of the long balloon over the top of a small one to the other end of the long one. Then tape from that point back to the start point. Tape around the round balloons from top to bottom and back, pulling the tape to form the balloons into a football. Cover the rest of the area with masking tape once the football shape is formed. Tear strips of newspaper about 3 inches by 1 inch and dip in the paper mache paste. Place on the masking tape. Leave a small section open as to put the candy in later on. Put on two layers of paper mache and pop the balloons once the two layers are completely dry. Prick through the paper mache if necessary because a third coat will be needed. Fill with candy and cover the hole with paper and tape. The third and final coat of paper mache is then applied. Once dried, paint the football with brown acrylic and white paint for the stitching. Prick two small holes in the top of the piñata, lace with string so it can be hung. Add the celebrant’s favorite team logo on the football and a NFL Football piñata is ready for its smashing.
