Nineties
PARTY CRAFT IDEAS |
 |
Ah the nineties, pretty soon it’ll be 20 years ago when they first started. The nineties are such a nostalgic time for those who were alive to remember them, it’s no wonder you wish to have a nineties party. Now, what do you do for the party? Have a craft making session? Thinking back though, the nineties are not well known for craft projects, what they are well known for is either politics, or the end of music videos on MTV. So why not make a music video?
They’re fairly easy and most modern computers have a microphone or web cam built in, though they only cost about 20 bucks to buy one. Next, you have to decide your genre, most music styles tend to require lots of instruments, and the skill to play them. So, I’d recommend rap or grunge rock. It doesn’t require instrumentation so much, instead focusing on lyrics and rhymes. Plus it’s always fun to see just what you can make a song out of. Then next is lyrics, with rap you could have each participant contribute a word and the person after has to add another word. Pretty soon, you’ll end up with a pretty funny sounding rap song.
It’s also a good idea to get everyone dressed up in funky hip hop clothing from the early nineties or grunge gear, such as flannel shirts and torn jeans. It shouldn’t be too hard to find enough guests at your party wearing some old jeans and flannel shirts to make a grunge rock video. If you don’t have any instruments, get the guests to play the air guitar or air instruments. That should make your homemade music video even more fun. Next, all you have to do is pick out the song and play it in the background.
Be sure to set up a few practice runs so your band members know what to sing or lip sync to the song. Plus, you’ll want your air guitarists to know when they’ll be playing their solos. After it’s done, edit on your home computer, make a dozen copies or so and send home with your guests as party favors. |
