Wanting to try something new for a party this year, how about something unique-The Olympics are held every four years and is often something that is experienced for most during ones lifetime where children are able to learn about the different countries involved, about the events, and of course about the history of the Olympics in general. What better way to introduce children to the Olympics other than a Lighting of the torch party? This gives the younger generation the opportunity to go through and learn about the different countries, their teams and learn about the different events in the Olympics as well.
The history of the Olympics alone is something that every child should learn about, and go through take one recipe from each country involved and make a side dish or entree and teach the guests of your event about the country as you watch the Olympics together. Have those invited read different facts that you supply on their invitation to pick their favorite event or contestant and in order to get in at the party or event have them dress as that contestant and at the end of the event or night, have a contest to see who portrays their team player the best, and offer them a small door prize, or offer a first, second and third place medal as they would receive if in the Olympics themselves. Or hold small events in the backyard of wherever the venue happens to be. This give everyone a chance to participate as well.
