Nothing is more fun than an Over the Hill birthday party; especially one that comes complete with some frolicking homemade games.
Handmade games for an Over the Hill birthday party could include Who’s Over the Hill?; a light-hearted birthday trivia game that challenges guests’ knowledge of very, very old things. Questions could include, “Name three types of dinosaur?” (Answer: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Brontosaurus, Terre dactyl, etc.), “Who was the fifth president of the United States?” (Answer: James Monroe), “Who were the two most prominent generals in the Civil War?” (Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee), “Who directed the legendary film ‘Gone With the Wind?’ Answer: David O’Selznick), etc. The person who answers the most questions correctly could be declared the most ‘Over the Hill’ of all!
Another homemade game at an Over the Hill birthday party could be the Over the Hill race. The host could make a small hill (perhaps a mound of pillows or bean bags covered by a long green quilt) at the center of the party area, encouraging guests to walk as slowly as possible over the makeshift hill. The last person to make it to the bottom of the hill wins!
Prizes for both of these handmade birthday games could include fun Over the Hill novelties like chocolate and bubble gum walking canes, ‘Old Coot’ miniatures, Over the Hill T-shirts and pins, sunglasses shaped like granny glasses, etc.
Guests at an Over the Hill birthday party will be ‘over the moon’ when they play these fun homemade games.
