Did you know that September 19th is the international Talk Like a Pirate Day. Be sure to turn your next party into a fun Pirate themed party for everyone including your Pirates of the Carribean fans, not just the kids. This means the adults can dress up like pirates and act like kids for a little while. When throwing your pirate themed party, make sure to send out invitations to everyone telling them that this is a costume party, although if you forget you can probably count on a few people coming dressed up on their own.
You can easily provide food and drink fitting for an adult pirate party. The pirates loved their beer. Food should be rich and hearty. Lots of meats and cheeses. Perhaps you can set up a cold cuts buffet and let everyone make their own sandwiches for the event. That way the winners still get a special treat and no one is throwing punches over lost money. See if you can start up a few rounds of classic sea shanties with the guests and get a real sing-a-round going at the party. If not, don’t worry, just go back to your good food, entertainment and poker game!

This cake is simply to make using your favorite cake recipe, blue food coloring, and red food coloring along with white and chocolate icing. Your pirate cake can be either rectangular or round, the choice is yours, but a rectangular cake will give you more room for making a great ocean design for your Pirate cake.
After baking your cake, let it cool and then using blue food coloring mix a container of blue food coloring with white icing. This will create a great ocean floor for your Pirate cake. Spread the blue icing over the cake. After this has been completed, add a miniature pirate ship and pirate to the top of the cake or draw both the miniature pirate ship and pirate on the cake to create the Pirate theme. Most people will find that drawing the pirate ship and pirate are rather easy and then they can simply add the words, “Happy Birthday,” to finish the cake.
