THEME RECIPE
|
 |
Red Hat Tiramisu. Looking for an idea to make for that special day? here is all you need its fabolous, everyone including yourself will adore this dessert, it just the perfect thing for that special day.
Ingredients:

Lady finger cookies
6-8 oz. marscaponi cheese or cream cheese
1/2 cup cooled espresso coffee
1/2-3/4 cup chopped semisweet chocolate
4 Tbsp butter
3 eggs separated
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup sweet Marsala wine
Whipped cream or Cool-Whip
Instructions:

Melt chocolate in butter, set aside to cool slightly. Whip the egg
yolks until light. Add sugar and beat over a double boiler until it is
slightly thickened, fluffy, and light. Slowly add the Marsala wine,
whipping all the while. (You now have Zabbaoni (sp?).
Fold in the chocolate mixture. Set aside. Beat egg whites to stiff
peaks, then fold into the the chocolate until just blended.
In separate bowl, whip the marcaponi cheese while slowly adding the
espresso coffee. Add about 2 Tbsp. of sugar to it. (I didn't do this
but think it would be a good idea).
Line the bottom of a pretty glass bowl with the ladyfingers. Layer the
cheese mixure over it, then the chocolate, then a layer of whipped
cream; repeat twice. End with whipped cream and dust lightly with
cocoa.
Refrigerate several hours.
This memorable recipe was given at my cousin's party, his theme was Red Hat and the tiramisu was the best thing of the party according to all the children. Try it for your next festivity you might love it as much as I do, It's a family favorite.

The Red Hat society is a group of women over the age of fifty who get together, socialize and travel around the country. While they may seem perfectly harmless, this group of women is on the prowl…prowl for fun that is.
When it’s your turn to host a red hat lady party make sure to honor the theme colors of red and purple in your menu. Perhaps make it more elegant with a Garden Party. Purple Passion Punch, Red Heart Cookies, and red potato salad are all ideas that incorporate the themed colors of the red hat ladies.
To make purple passion punch for a red hat gathering make sure to purchase four cups grape juice, chilled, one qt. ginger ale, chilled, Maraschino cherries, optional, one (46 oz.) can pineapple-grapefruit juice, chilled. Combine all ingredients and just before serving add the ginger ale. Garnish with cherries if you like.
Additionally to make red heart cookies for the red hat party acquire the following ingredients: one cup butter, one cup confectioner’s sugar, one egg, one teaspoon vanilla extract, two ˝ cups all-purpose flour, one teaspoon baking soda, one teaspoon cream of tartar. In a large bowl combine the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla and mix well. Mix in the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Mix until smooth. Divide dough into three equal pieces. Work with one dough piece at a time. Roll out on a lightly floured surface. Using cookie cutters cut out two equal sized heart shapes for each cookie. Then using a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter cut out another heart in the center of one of the heart shaped cookies. Spread the solid heart cookie with a little strawberry jam/jelly and place on cookie sheet, top with the second cookie (the one with the heart-shaped center cut out). The center of each cookie will reveal a red jelly heart. Repeat process until all dough is used. Bake cookies at 350F for approximately 8 minutes or until golden and baked through.
Above all else, make sure that fun is the main ingredient in any red hat party. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Red Hat theme party feeling. |
