Safari Party |
 |
Yes, a safari themed party sounds like fun, celebrating the jungles, or savannahs of foreign lands. Encounter exotic animals such as elephants, zebras and Giraffes. Then get eaten by a lion. Or not, maybe you just want to throw a small party with friends and thought why not go jungle style. Well either way just remember to not antagonize the army ants. They’ll devour all your guests in no time at all. Most safaris took place in Africa so any research you might want to do should focus there at around 100 to 200 years ago.
Some things to decide on first are do you want a savannah theme with grasslands, or maybe a jungle theme with rainforests. Then again why not be greedy and have both, this way you won’t have to remember which animal goes in which setting. You can throw up wall scrolls of jungle and savannah scenery with props and pictures of animals set all around. Lions, tigers, zebras, gazelles, hyenas, elephants, hippos, these are all popular and easily recognizable animals that tend to stay on the savannah. Snakes, alligators, elephants, panthers, gorillas, sometimes lions and hyenas, warthogs, etc. are animals that can be found in the jungle. Have the guests come dressed up as different creatures to turn this safari into an animal party. If you want there are a plethora of movies that relate to this theme that can be used to entertain guests. Throw up a few streamers and banners if you like, maybe hang them off of jungle styled poles with fires on type for added effect. Be ware of fires though.
As you should expect it is a good idea to purchase paper plates, cups, napkins, and plastic utensils for the safari themed party if you want to make clean up go much easier. Most of these can be obtained with some type of jungle theme to them if you look hard enough.
Food can be easy to find for the party. If you have a tight budget or are feeding a large group of people then you should turn the party into a potluck and have the guests bring a variety of dishes for all to sample. |
