Homemade School Party Game

Back to School parties can be great social events for young children with homemade games and activities Young children are always full of energy and excitement so allow them to harness that energy in productive ways such as homemade party games and activities. The age group of the children plays a role in which homemade games are played. Keep the games simple with few rules and let the fun begin. relay race and tag games are always fun for young children because they can burn off some energy in a controlled format.

Once the children have settled down, the school games may continue with some fun word play games such as Adjectives. Several players sit in a row. The last player in the row thinks of a word (a noun) such as spade. All the rest players think of adjectives. Then the 1st player says – fat, The 2nd – hairy, The 3rd - old etc. and the last player pronounces his word - man. Everyone says: fat, hairy, old man." The game is played at a rapid rate. The next word is thought of by the other player. The player who thought of the noun in the previous round, now begins to name the adjectives. This game is played until all the players think of a noun. There are many other school appropriate word games such as Last Letter Game, crossword puzzles (which can be made into a life-size version on a chalk or dry erase board). Games can be a used as a method to teach children a variety of subjects without them even realizing they are learning.
