Scooby Doo will go down in history as the crime fighting dog with the super cool gang of friends who run with him. This major animated tv series has been in production since 1969 and features a talking dog who is called Scooby Doo. This series starred four teenagers who made it a habit to ride around in the Mystery Van seeking ghost ridden crimes to fight. The original tv series was actually created for Saturday morning cartoons. However, the immense popularity of the show became the spawning point for many other spin offs and other works. In 2001 it was taken on by Warner Bros Animation.
The history of this talking dog is full of surprises. This show originally aired on CBS in 1969 and ran until 1976, however, the popularity of the show carried on through another entire generation. Once Scooby Doo was into the full swing of things he also managed to win some visits from some of his random family members. Scrappy Doo, who was known as Scoobys nephew as well as his cousin Scooby Dum.
When this series switched its history over to ABC the show continued to broadcast until 1986. After the show ceased to air a spin off was born that was called A Pup Named Scooby Doo. This series featured the same gang and the same dog, but as children. Repeats of the original Scooby Doo still run today. Since the cartoons inception many products and medias have been created in this talking dogs name.
