Scooby Doo usually has a spooky atmosphere, as well as a mysterious plot, in its cartoon TV shows, as well as the movies. Children love to be scared, as long as it is in a funny and safe space, such as during a Scooby Doo show. So, a Scooby Do party might be a great idea around Halloween.

Dress the party area or room as a haunted house, have lots of party supplies that are also used for Halloween, such as spider webs, eerie music in the background, and maybe even a smoke machine, and the atmosphere will be set for the party. While the kids anticipate the movie that will be shown during this event, they can be talking about their favorite Scooby Do TV show or movie, or discussing a favorite scene. They may even want to act it out, especially if it takes place in a haunted house.

A scavenger hunt would be a great idea to add to the mystery, and if the lights are dimmed this will make the hunt even scarier. If there are plenty of larger hiding places in the room or if the kids can use the entire house, a spooky hide and seek game might be fun.

The kids might want to take turns being one of the characters in the Scooby Do shows, and even create a story line on their own. Or, if a script is provided, the role-playing is always fun, too.

While they get ready for the movie, be sure to smoke up the room with the smoke machine to increase the spooky ambiance in the room. The smell of popcorn being made will also add to the excitement, anticipation, and fun. As they sit in the movie theatre atmosphere, serve the popcorn in buckets or individual plates with Scooby Do on them, and watch them enjoy the show.
