Administrative Professionals Day COOKIES

Administrative Professionals Day is a great time to give a secretary or other administrative professional a delectable homemade cookie treats. There is no better way to do this than making a Gourmet Cookie Tin. The tin can is the beautiful centerpiece as to what is hidden inside. For a more whimsical touch one can add coloring sheets as well that deal with workers in various aspects of the office.

To begin creating these homemade cookies to place inside the tin one will have to first prepare a basic sugar cookie recipe per instructions. Allow the dough to cool in the refrigerator a few hours before beginning to roll them out.

Once the cookies have had time to chill take a small amount of flour and sprinkle it onto a flat surface. Also take a small amount of dough and sprinkle it on the dough and rolling pin as well. Roll the dough out till it’s about ½-1/4 inch thick. However, make sure that they are not too thin. If the dough begins to stick to surfaces simply add a bit more flour. Once the dough is rolled out take cookie cutters in the shapes of flowers, butterflies, and other spring favorites and place them in the dough. Be sure that when they are being removed it is done carefully to avoid the cookie from tearing. Place onto a cookie sheet and allow to bake 8-10 min or till golden brown. Remove from oven and sheet and place onto a cooling rack.

Once the homemade cookies are cool all that is left to do is frost and decorate. Try and use colors that they may love, great choices include pastels and other light colors. Place them in a tissue lined paper and add a personal message and you will have a gift that any secretary will truly love.
