Sprinkle the wording of the Seventies invitations with terms that were used in the Seventies. That will give your invitations a true seventies flavor. Some examples of phrases to add are ”Hey man, can you dig it, you are invited to a party at my crib. Come and plan to party hardy.” Terms like these will put that extra seventies flare into the invitations.

When To Mail the Invitations
A seventies party may be a costume party with guests needing to put get together an outfit that is totally “fly” so give them a little extra notice. Most invitations for informal parties can be mailed two to three weeks ahead of time. This is especially true if you add you email and phone number for the RSVPs, that way you cut down on the “through the mail” time”. Anything less than two weeks is probably a really short notice and should only be done for very close friends and then only if they know the party is a possibility ahead of time.

Thank You Notes
Guests often send thank you notes to host to tell them how much they enjoyed the party and appreciate being invited. Hosts often send thank you notes to guests sometimes with a little party favor to thank them for coming. Both types are appreciated and only take a few minutes to do. For the host you can plan the thank you notes at the same time that you are planning the invitations. It is always nice when the thank you notes match the invites. Hosts may also want to drop a picture taken at the party or a link to a site where party pictures have been uploaded into the thank you note.
