The sixties was a magical time and recreating that period for your party is sure to be fun and with a little effort you can boost the mood with sixties inspired handmade party favors. With such a colorful era to inspire us it is a breeze to come up with groovy handmade party favors like headbands that your guests will adore. To make the groovy headbands you will need three thick cotton strings of equal lengths in three different bright colors. If you can’t find thick strings then take 3 or 4 strings for each color which will make 9 or 12 strings in total to make one braid. The length of the strings should be twice the circumference of your head so you don’t fall short. Gather all the strings together and make a knot at one end. Separate the strings into three groups according to their color and start to braid. Stop braiding when about 2 inches of string is left and make a knot. Now you can either attach small elastic to the ends or just tie the colorful groovy headband around your head. You can mix and match different colored strings and once you get the strings lined up it will just take a few minutes to make this vibrant multicolored headband that is sure to get you and your guests moving to the tunes of the sixties.
