Spiderman Biscotti
Spiderman parties are always so much fun, but at the last one I attended I was introduced to what is now my best friend "Biscotti's". They are just fabulous make them and see what I am talking about
3/4 C whole almonds
2 C all-purpose flour
7/8 C sugar
1 tsp baking soda
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 C almond extract or almond liquor (such as Amaretto)
zest of 1 small orange - optional
Put almonds in a shallow pan. Toast at 350F for 10 minutes.
Cool. Chop coarsely.
Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and nuts in a large mixing bowl.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs, vanilla, almond extract and zert about
1 minute. Add to flour mixture.
Cut dough in half. On a greased and floured baking sheet, pat dough
into two logs, 1/2" thick x 1-1/2" wide and 12" long.
Place logs 2" apart. Bake in a preheated 300F over for 50 minutes or
until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
With a serrated knife, cut loaves at 45 degree angle, 1/2" thick
(16-10 pieces). Lay slices flat on a baking sheet. Cook at 275F
for 20-25 minutes, turning once.
Store in an airtight container.
Spiderman Biscotti's were so talked about at Blake's Halloween party last year, so I decided to make them this year at my Halloween party and they were a blessing for my party everyone liked them.

| FIGHT FOR THE BANNER: A small hill or a heap of sand is "a fortress". The players are divided into 2 equal parties. One party occupies a fortress. The players of this party stand around the hill with their backs to each other. The leader of this party stands on the top of the hill with the banner in his hands. Not far from the fortress there drawn a line. It is "a trench" of the enemy party. At the signal of their leader, the attacking party begins the assault of the fortress. The assault consists in that the attacking party tries to pull off the defenders of the fortress over the trench line. The player who is pulled off the fortress and is over the trench line is considered to be a prisoner and cannot take part in the game anymore. The defenders of the fortress try in their turn to pull their enemies into their territory. The players of the attacking party who are pulled into the territory of the fortress are the prisoners. The game is over when one of the parties is so weakened that cannot continue fighting. Lots more

Spiderman MENU IDEAS |
 |
Spiderman is a popular superhero for kid’s parties these days, especially with the number of Spiderman movies that have come out recently. There are plenty of themed party goods that you can get for the party, including balloons, party favors, and streamers. Not to mention the plethora of party games that can be played at the Spiderman party.
Nothing compares to good food though and you’ll find this Birthday party menu is very tasty and fun for the kids to eat. Start out with some crunchy chocolate spiders an appetizer that is both gross and fun. You’ll learn how to make them in a minute, but next make up a spider’s favorite drink; Blood Punch. It’s made with V8 juice or tomato juice and some spicy seasonings like salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste. A Spiderman cake is excellent for any birthday party and even good for a non birthday party. Serve up easy pick up foods like mozzarella sticks, French fries, chicken fingers and fish sticks then have everyone sit down to watch a Spiderman movie marathon, especially good for a pajama party.
Crunchy chocolate spiders are easy to make for the Spiderman party and surprisingly simple. All you need is a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and chow mein noodles. Melt down the chips over low heat and mix in chow mein noodles. Use a spoon to scoop out clumps of chow mein noodles covered in chocolate and set on wax paper to cool. If needed you can set in refrigerator to harden faster. These chocolate covered treats are very popular once the kids get over their initial hesitance at eating ‘chocolate covered spiders’.
Even if you run out of good treats and Spiderman movies to watch at this kids party there are still plenty of ways to keep the guests entertained with Spiderman games and kid’s crafts and activities. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Spiderman theme party feeling. |
