Set up a crafts table, so the kids can choose from a variety of activities. They can use beads and elastic thread to make necklaces or bracelets, or they might choose to use the beads, paints, and glue to decorate little jewelry boxes. Or they might want to do both. Candy clay is very tasty, and can be molded like play dough and then eaten. For this recipe, you will need:
• 14 Oz. pkg of Wilton Candy Melts
• 1/3 C. of light Karo Syrup
• Crushed Peppermint Candies **optional

Melt candy melts according to package directions. Add peppermint or food coloring, and corn syrup, and stir to blend. This will begin to harden at once. Place in refrigerator over night. If clay is too hard, simply spend a little time bringing it to a higher temperature by kneading it in a zipper bag. Sprinkle with cornstarch to prevent sticking to hands or work surfaces, and mold into fun shapes and then enjoy eating!
