Handmade Superbowl Pinatas

A handmade Superbowl piñata would be great fun to do. And the entertainment that comes from it will certainly be special.

To create your own homemade Superbowl piñata you will need a balloon, newspaper, flour, water, red and white acrylic paints, and some colored crepe paper. If you can find a balloon in the shape of a football, that would be great. But, otherwise, it will have to just be round. Blow the balloon up until it is firm and tie it. Then create the paper mache out of flour and water. You will need to mix both ingredients until it becomes like a paste. The newspaper will need to be shredded and dipped into the paste. Take the pasty shreds of newspaper and place them all over the balloon, until it is covered, except for a hole at the top. This hole will be for placing the candy and toys inside. Let the paper mache dry onto the balloon. Then pop the balloon and remove it from the inside of the piñata.

Now it’s time to decorate your homemade Superbowl piñata. Paint it red, with white lines on it, to make it look like a football. You may want to mix the red and white paint to make a closer color to a football. All that needs to be done after this is to add the candy, toys, and other goodies. Just drop them all into the hole that you left at the top. Then add a hefty string or thin rope to the piñata and hang it for the kids to have a great time!
