Survivor Scones. I had a big party last week and I wanted to make everyone welcome since many of my guest's were from out of the country so I made them a big meal and Survivor Scones made smoothness in the final dish. Measure 2 cups self-rising flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Rub in 2 level
dessertspoons butter. Mix lightly to soft dough with 3/4 cup milk.
Handle minimally to a slab 3/4" thick and cut into shape on floured board.
Glaze with milk. Place close together on greased and floured tray. Bake
in hot (400-450F) oven 12 - 15 minutes.
From a printout dated 4 Mar 91 of a recipe sent by Karen Hayward.
3 cups high grade flour
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
25g (1 oz) butter
about 1 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients, rub in butter and mix to a soft dough with milk,
knead on a lightly floured board, roll out, cut, place on lightly greased
and floured tray and bake in a hot oven 230C (450F) for 10-15 minutes
or until golden brown.
To this basic recipe you can add sugar, fruit, cheese, etc.
Hints for making scones.
Sift baking powder, flour and salt.
Rub in butter thoroughly but quickly and lightly using the tips of
your fingers, until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Mix in milk lightly and quickly, using a knife.
Make a soft dough.
Turn on a lightly floured board and knewad lightly.
Roll lightly to about 12-20mm (1/2 to 3/4 inch) thick. Cut into shapes.
The flour you use is important, use a flour with a high protein content.
The recipe is made using a baking powder made with cream of tarter as
the main ingredient. If using a baking powder with a food phosphate as
the main ingredient, warm the milk slightly before use.
Mix lightly but quickly. Overhandling will result in a tougher product.
The above is really not difficult, and the cook will now have something to share h the entire family and show off their special skills.

| FISH FOR DINNER: Put in a large cardboard box empty cans, old boots and cardboard fish. On each can, boot or fish there is a special little wire hoops. The fishing-rod is a long stick with the wire hook at the end. The hook is attached to the rod with the help of the thick string. The players catch the fish not seeing it (because it lies on the bottom of the box. The smaller is the hook on the fish, the bigger is the number of points written on it. The players catch the fish in turn. Each of them has only one minute to cope with it. The first player who has the necessary number of points is the winner. The players who catch a can or a boot loose half of their points. Lots more

Survivor MENU IDEAS |
 |
You’ll be a true Survivor fan when you put together a Survivor party to welcome the new or final episodes of the next series to television. Whether you put this party together for a season finale or a birthday, your guests won’t have to feel like their starving with your excellent buffet choices.
Most Survivor series end up in tropical or exotic locales. You’ll do well with an exotic meal plan. Start off with a seafood salad that’s totally delish for the guests. Shrimp Scampi is quite tasty and oysters on the half shell can be thrilling for the more adventurous at your party. Of course you might have some guests at the party that aren’t big seafood fans. You can serve up roast pork for them in reference to that ‘incident’ in Survivor: The Austrailian Outback a few years ago. You know the one. Maybe you shouldn’t mention the reference and just serve the pork in order to keep a big debate from starting up. Finish off the buffet with a Cocoanut Pie for dessert.
Seafood Salad
For this quick and refreshing Survivor party dish you’ll need: 1 medium head lettuce, chopped, 8 pieces cooked jumbo shrimp or lobster, 1/4 cup green onions, chopped, 1 cup celery, sliced, 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded, and 2 cups frozen peas.
To make the Survivor Seafood Salad place chopped lettuce in a large bowl. On top place the shrimp or lobster (cleaned, cooked and with shells removed), then cover with peas, green onions, celery, and Mozzarella cheese.
You can also make a dressing for this dish by mixing two parts mayonnaise or plain salad dressing and one part Dijon mustard.
The guests will absolutely devour your Seafood Salad at the Survivor party. Make sure you have plenty of paper goods in the Survivor party theme. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Survivor theme party feeling. |
