Survivor is a television program that has swept the nation, inspiring the spirit and imaginations of its viewers. And to celebrate this adventure-filled show, why not plan a Survivor party that is an adventure all its own? Really cool discussion topics as well as other interesting topics are a great way of getting the event or celebration started. More often than not this small touch will add a great deal to the gathering and make the event much more enjoyable for everyone involved. These activities along with good food and great friends will make the celebration very special.

At this party, be sure and talk up the fact that Survivor is a reality show in which ordinary people are challenged to travel to a foreign land; ah, but they’re not exactly going on a luxury cruise. They instead are being challenged to survive the wild and carry out designated missions and tasks with few conveniences in tow; this show takes the concept of roughing it to a whole new level!

So why on earth would any sane human being abandon all modern conveniences to bear nearly impossible living conditions and a rudimentary diet? Only to earn a cool million dollar prize and the title of Sole Survivor; along with prizes for individual challenges that range from candy bars to cars.

The history of Survivor is an interesting one, and should definitely be covered at the party. The concept for Survivor was created in 1992 by British television producer Charlie Parsons, and has manifested itself in a number of reality television shows around the world. The U.S. version of Survivor debuted in 2000 (in which contestants journeyed to the wilds of Borneo), spawning both a ratings craze and a reality show phenomenon. Jeff Probst is the show’s host; Richard Hatch was the first Survivor winner, while Tina Wesson (Survivor: Outback) was the show’s first female winner. The program’s youngest winner is Jud Fabio Birza.
