A tailgate party is a great American rite, ritual and past time; one that generally takes place before or after a big ballgame, and that inspires more than its share of fun-loving Hollywood movies.

Tailgatin’—comedy tape starring the Clever Cleaver Brothers

While not all of these films feature tailgate parties, most of them feature fast cars, sport themes, and wild parties; so be sure to bring along a surefire supply of rockin’ party supplies. These could include a centerpiece that likens a barbecue grill, a model car, or a scale model of a ball park; pennants of the host’s favorite sports team adorning the walls of the party area, along with posters and wall art depicting their favorite players; inflatable hot dogs, hamburgers and beer mugs hanging from the ceiling; and tableware that comes in vibrant colors like red, blue, gold and purple. Further adorn the party area with streamers, ribbons and tulle or tissue banners in the same bright hues, and have plenty of beer mugs and party platters on hand; all of which can turn a standard tailgate party into a day to remember.
