Fans of the Tennessee Titans football team are indeed ’true blue,’ as this is the team’s signature color. And guests certainly will not be ‘blue’ at a Titans party that comes complete with a vast multitude of exciting trivia facts.

The Titans are among the youngest teams in the National Football League; it was in 1999 that, under the guidance of team owner K.S. "Bud" Adams, Jr., the team once known as the Oilers became the "Tennessee Titans."

"We wanted a new nickname to reflect strength, leadership and other heroic qualities," Adams said.

That same year, Adams and his wife Nancy established the Tennessee Titans Foundation, an organization devoted to charitable and philanthropic interests in the state of Tennessee. Adams donated the impressive sum of $500,000 to ‘kick off’ the foundation. The team scored other milestones on the field that year, as Al Del Greco kicked a 33-yard field goal to carry the Titans to a 36-35 victory over Cincinnati—the team’s first under its new name. In another game highlight that day, quarterback Steve McNair passed for a career-high 341 yards.

The titans continue to set records in the new millennium. In 2008, the Titans won the AFC South title with a 28-9 victory over the Cleveland Browns at LP Field. That marked the ninth division crown in club history. And in 2010, running back Chris Johnson (known as CJ2K to fans) was honored with the title Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
