Homemade
Thanksgiving Costume
Whoever said thanksgiving was a boring holiday never held a costume party for their event. Now, if you consider inviting guests to arrive in costume for thanksgiving be aware that you have a good many Tom turkey's. That's not to say giant turkeys are a bad thing for this holiday, but it can be a little non creative. Plus, people will almost certainly be bumping into each other at dinner. So, consider making a few suggestions to your guests before they arrive or claiming the honor of Turkey for yourself.
Initially guests may have a hard time coming up with good ideas for their costume. They can come dressed as other food items; such as an ear of corn or some squash. Another idea is coming up as the old fashioned dad from the Norman Rockwell painting. You can bet no one thought of that idea. It's a little bit obscure, but makes perfect sense when explained and allows guests to wander in public without feeling too noticeable.
Other ideas include dressing up as Pilgrims or Native Americans. Of course, you can always get the kids in on costumes for your parties. They are usually the most excited to play dress up and least likely to feel embarrassed just dressing up for fun. Make sure you reward all of your guests who dress up with a costume party contest. Give out awards for the most creative, best homemade costumes, and cutest Thanksgiving costumes. Have a great holiday and look out for turkeys.
