Tinkerbell's Light Fruit Cake
A light dessert is the perfect thing to have after eating a big meal. It just works out perfect for me and all my guest's when eating a big meal they enjoy the lightness of this Tinkerbell's Light Fruit Cake
. This is from the "Southern Living 1990 Annual Recipes" cookbook.
Light Fruitcake
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
7 eggs, separated
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 pounds diced yellow, green, and red candied pineapple (about 3 cups)
1 pound red and green candied cherries (about 2 cups)
1/4 pound diced candied citron (about 1/2 cup)
1/2 pound golden raisins (about 1 1/2 cups)
3 cups pecan halves
1 cup black walnuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Additional candied fruit and nuts (optional)
1/4 cup brandy
Additional brandy
Make a liner for a 10-inch tube-pan by drawing a circle with an 18-inch
diameter on a piece of brown paper. Cut out circle; set pan in center,
and draw around base of pan and inside tube. Fold circle into eighths,
having the drawn lines on the outside.
Cut off tip end of circle along inside drawn line. Unfold paper;
cut along folds to the outside drawn line. From another piece of
brown paper, cut another circle with a 10-inch diameter; grease
and set aside. Place the 18-inch line in pan; grease and set aside.
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed
of an electric mixer. Stir in flavorings. Beat egg yolks;
alternately add yolks and 3 cups flours to creamed mixture.
Combine candied pineapple, cherries, citron, golden raisins,
pecans, and walnuts in a bowl; dredge with 1/2 cup flour, stirring
to coat well. Stir mixture into batter. Beat egg whites (at room
temperature) until stiff peaks form; fold into butter.
Spoon batter into prepared pan. Arrange additional candied fruit
and nuts on top of batter, if desired. Cover pan with 10-inch
brown paper circle, greased side down. Bake at 250 degrees for
about 4 hours or until cake tests dones. Remove from oven.
Take off paper cover, and slowly pour 1/4 cup brandy evenly over
cake; cool completely on wire rack.
Remove cake from pan; peel paper liner from cake. Wrap cake in
brandy-soaked cheesecloth. Store in an airtight in a cool place
up to 3 weeks; pour a small amount of brandy over cake each
week. Yield: one 10-inch cake.
After a big meal a light dessert is just the thing that makes everyone happy. Its great to enjoy a dessert its part of a full meal, but their are times when being stuffed just does not allow for any of that, fortunately you can try this beauty.

| Pin the Star on the Wand Party Game: This Tinkerbell party game is just what it sounds like, but with a fun twist. Before the party you%u2019ll have to draw a large wand on a poster, and cut out enough cardboard stars for each party guest plus a few extras. Stickers, markers, glue and glitter can be used to decorate them. Each guest gets to make their own star; imagine the fun of seeing what they come up with for their star.
Once everyone has made their star, guests take turns to put on a blindfold and try to stick their star as close to the wand as possible. The fairy whose star is the closest wins a small prize in this Tinkerbell party game. Lots more

A menu for the Tinkerbell Birthday party can be fun and tasty. Its even fun to think up new and usual names or styles of serving foods that you normally eat, just to make the meal a bit more special for the guests at your party. Serve up as an appetizer; tasty fairy wands for the kids to snack on. These are easy to make by just dipping some large pretzel sticks in white chocolate or dark chocolate and giving them a good coating of sprinkles. The main course for your Tinkerbell party can be Tink’s Magic Pizza, a homemade pizza with magically colored dough. A few drops of blue or red food coloring when you are mixing up the pizza dough should be good enough. Make the magic pizza even more special by giving it a stuffed crust using mozzarella string cheese. Dessert is Tinkerbell’s Honeydew and Blueberry Ambrosia for everyone to enjoy.
You can easily make up Tinkerbell’s Honeydew and Blueberry Ambrosia with some Honeydew Melon, Blueberries, a few cherries, sugar, lemon juice, whipped cream, and walnuts. Open and clean up the melon and clean the blueberries. Use a Melon baller to create cute bite sized pieces of Honeydew melon. Mix the melon balls, blueberries, and a third of a small jar of cherries together. It won’t hurt to add a little bit of the cherry juice to the mix. Mix in the sugar and lemon juice to taste. This should create a small about of syrup, but don’t add so much liquid that the fruit is floating around in it. Chill. Serve up at the party in a bowl with a small dollop of whipped cream and a handful of walnuts sprinkled on top.
This tasty menu plan for your next Tinkerbell party will delight the kids and adult guests at your event. Of course there’s always room for more great Tinkerbell recipe ideas. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Tinkerbell theme party feeling. |
