Tweety who is also known as Tweety Pie or Tweety Bird has a history of being a bit of a mouthy bird that fully enjoys taunting his nemesis. However he didn't begin his life as a domestic canary. But as a wild baby bird with no real heritage confirmed. His popularity strangely grew after the end of the Looney Tunes era ended. In the Golden Age, Tweety appeared in 48 different cartoons.
Despite what some people can interpret about Tweety's appearance including his long eyelashes and higher pitched voice, a fact is that Tweety is indeed a male bird. So even while his species may be a bit mysterious, his gender is not. In the episodes of Tweety and Sylvester they constantly showed how this tiny bird was able to outwit a cunning cat who wanted nothing more than Tweety Pie made into a pie for himself. All of the meals he dreamed up in cartoon clouds of course never came to fruition because of Tweety's inherent ability to always dupe the cat. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes accidentally.
However Tweety may have also had some issues in his history as well. In his earliest episodes he was described as being more aggressive instead of incidental and actively tries to outwit his foes and even manages to kick his enemies whenever they are down. But when Fritz Freleng took over he suggested that they tone Tweety Bird down to where he is today to create a more media friendly and innocent bystander to the woes bestowed on him by the duping cat Sylvester.
