Tweety and Sylvester have been favorites among several generations, and a movie night that features Tweety would be great for all ages. A marathon can easily be arranged from all of the cartoon episodes that were on TV for over 40 years. You can follow them up with The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries that were created from 1995 to 2002. Then the grand finale can be Tweety’s High Flying Adventure, which is actually a spoof on “Around the World in Eighty Days.”

Some of the other characters in the Tweety cartoons have captured the hearts of many, as well. It might be a good idea to have a costume party using this theme. Other characters that the kids might dress up as are Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, Egghead Jr., Granny, and Foghorn Leghorn. It would be great if they could stay in character as they act out a scene, or at least just one sentence from a previous cartoon episode. And get ready to give the winner, the best voice and character, a prize. It might be a Tweety “academy award.” And if other games will be played, there will be more winners, as well. So, be sure to think of that when the party supplies list is being created.

Depending on the ages of the kids, they might want to play a board game, a video game, or even color while they are waiting for lunch to be served. They will know the movie marathon follows, so they will be excited. Depending on the setup, they might want to have lunch while they watch the movies. Try making it an outdoor barbeque, or picnic type scenario, where the DVD player is brought outside. Set them up at picnic tables facing the screen, with their Tweety Bird cups, plates, and napkins, and they’ll love it.
