THEME RECIPE

Twenties Peanut Blossoms. With a little experimenting, I came up with these chewy Peanut Blossoms and it was great for Rosie's party. They make your kitchen smell wonderful. They almost remind me of Christmas because the fabulous smell its so good.
1 3/4 cups All Purpose or Unbleached Flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
Granulated sugar
48 Hershey Kisses, unwrapped
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Farhenheit. Combine the flour, the 1/2
cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, baking soda, salt, shortening,
peanut butter, milk, vanilla, and egg in a large bowl at a low speed
until a stiff dough forms. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll each ball
in granulated sugar. Place the balls 2 inches apart on ungreased
cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove the cookie sheets from the oven and immediately top each cookie
with a chocolate kiss, pressing down firmly so the cookie cracks
around the edge. Remove the cookies to wire racks to cool.
Great eaten fresh from oven, this recipe is really one of my families favorite because its so simple yet it taste as if it took hours to prepare is that incredible, my family enjoys it very much, so much that everyone has learned how to prepare, try it.

A proper Twenties party needs a proper twenties menu to evoke this fun, carefree decade. The twenties conjure up visions of pretty girls in flapper dresses, wild dance parties and decadence. The twenties menu at your twenties party should keep this theme running.
