Twilight made its mark on pop culture history when it released the 2008 vampire romance story which was based on a book by Stephenie Meyers novel of the same title. This film starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson became almost an instant pop culture teen hit. The story stars a young teenage girl who is forced to move back in with her father with whom she has somewhat of a strained relationship with. Once she begins her new high school she discovers a group of people who she is warned off of due to them being very strange and mysterious.
However it goes down in Twilight history that the character did not resist her urge to get to know the character of Edward Cullen played by Pattinson and indeed began a romance with him that would lead her to change her own beliefs in what vampires and their culture is actively involved in. Bella Swan, played by Stewart eventually finds herself embroiled in a hunt that is directed at her. The Cullen family then spends their time trying to protect Bella who has become a target due to her vulnerability as a mortal.
A fun fact about Twilight is that it was mostly filmed in Oregon and though the location of the characters was not based there, the screen adaptation of course differed a bit from the original novel on the subject. This movie was released in a much awaited frenzy by fans already loyal to the vampire culture.
