A Nautical Under the Sea sleepover party can be great fun for the kids and the adults. You’ll probably remember the theme from long ago Proms and school dances of the forties and fifties. Heck this is such a Nautical popular theme there are probably still Under The Sea dances being held all over the place.
For the sleepover party you can make your own Nautical Under the Sea party as special as you want. Wall murals are great ways to add instant atmosphere to any room and you’ll find plenty of ocean themed hangings to use at your party. There are magical coral reefs, tropical islands and schools of colorful fish ready and waiting to be added to your Under the Sea party area.
Inflatables are fun items to use at any party and they make for easy storage after the party is over. All you need to do is let the air out of them and roll them up. Inflatable fish can be scattered around the party area and they will practically invite the guests to come and play with them. Kids will be lounging on inflatable sharks and starting up games of toss the flounder in your living room!
Keep the theme up with fun Nautical Under the Sea themed movies for everyone to watch. You can plan to show, The Little Mermaid, Splash and for some scary effect, Deep Blue Sea.
Food absolutely has to be Fish and Chips. But you can also serve up those cute little fish crackers and for candy have some gummy fish on hand. Be sure to serve everything in Under the Sea themed paper supplies.
Lastly send everyone home with a few fun Nautical Under the Sea themed party favors. Maybe a mini glass pendant filled with colored sand can keep kids happy? There is no limit how far an Under The Sea party can go with homemade party supplies. It is important to start the party planning well before the scheduled party date to ensure quality party supplies are gathered and made. The sea is littered with spectacular, interesting, unique creatures; therefore, do some research and find the coolest creatures to draw on large sheets of paper and poster board. The sea is anything but boring and dull so use vibrant oranges, reds, purples, and blues to represent water. Use a lot of blue cellophane to create the illusion of water. Place the cellophane on the walls, party table and anywhere splashes of color are needed. Make a faux coral reef using plastic of Paris, paint, sealant and coral mod. Use the faux coral reef as a table centerpiece.
Handmade Under The Sea party supplies are not limited to only fish and sea creatures. Mermaids, while fictional (or so we think), are a major part of the sea’s lore and history. Draw the mermaid face, arms, and torsos on a large sheet of paper. Use shimmering aqua green fabric for the mermaids tail, red wig (or desired colored wig), and shells for to cover the chest. Paste the materials on the sheet of paper to give the mermaid a 3D look.
A cute food idea for an Under The Sea party theme is to use blue food coloring to tint cream cheese. Spread it on a bagel that is cut in fourths and top it with a goldfish cracker for added fun.

Under the Sea Cake Ideas
An Under The Sea cake would be great for a birthday boy’s theme party. Depending on the size of the crowd invited, the cake can be a large sheet cake, all decorated with undersea animal shapes and coral, or it can be a triple layer cake that is decorated all around the outside sides of it.
A flat sheet cake can be ordered plain and the creative decorating left to the hostess. Meanwhile, gathering all of the interesting decorations should be fun. If no fish shaped cake decorations can be found, they can be created with decorating gel quite easily. You might even try your hand at a seahorse.
Glittery decorations would be perfect also, as it is supposed to be under water. Make bubbles out of various shaped silver ball cake decorations, and make sure that everything is edible.
The frosting all around it, whether it is a flat sheet cake, or a three-layer high cake, should be blue and green, resembling the waters of the ocean.
And an interesting addition might be seaweed that is created by melting caramel and pouring very thin amounts onto a surface to let it cool. When it is cool and hardened, it can be placed on top or sides of the cake.
