Homemade Veterans Day Party Game

Celebrate Veterans Day with homemade party games that will not only entertain children but educate them on the importance of Veterans Day.

Pin the Stars on the American Flag is a Veterans Day homemade game in which players try to pin as many stars in the blue section of the American Flag blindfolded. Cut out the white stars from construction paper along with the red and white stripes to make the American flag. When the game is completed, no need to waste the American Flag so framing it and hanging it in the child’s room makes for great wall art as well.

Another homemade Veterans Day game that children can play is Pin the Helmet on the Soldier (just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey). Draw a soldier on a large sheet of paper or use a poster and cut out an army helmet from green construction paper and fill in the necessary details.

Veterans Day homemade games can also include many handmade printables such as crossword puzzles, word search, hangman, spelling word questions etc. Print a large match and have children write in the states as well (this helps with geography skills). Print out various United States Armed Forces flags such as the Marines, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Air Force and color in the appropriate colors.

Veterans Day homemade games that will get the heart racing are relay and tag type games children game play. Set up a boot camp style obstacle course in which children have to race through. Equip the obstacle course with tires, chairs, cardboard boxes and any objects children have to jump over or crawl under.
