Wine Tasting Menu
A wine tasting menu is quite different than many menus because it does not have a main meal but rather many small finger foods that go along with a certain wine. To have a complete wine tasting party, you will need to make sure you have the following.
1. You will need at least 6 distinctly different wines in order for the event to be effective.
2. Appetizers: These are things people can eat on before the wine tasting begins. This offers something on the stomach before tasting wine as well as something to do while more guests file into the party.
3. Cheese: the best food that goes with wine is cheese. Research the types of cheese and cross reference with wine. Be careful, just as there are some cheeses that compliment the taste of wine, other will absolutely destroy the taste leaving your guest with very little to be desired.
4. You will also want to have a bread station where people can bring their taste buds back to a starting point. If your guests go to one station after another without eating a piece of bread, the tastes of the wines will blend together and they will not get the true taste of each wine.
If your guests will be staying for a while for other activities, you might want to offer a salad bar. This can be a simple salad bar with lettuce, onion, dressing, tomatoes and cucumbers. By just adding even one simple food item to the menu will help create
a complete Wine Tasting theme party feeling. |
