Winnie the Pooh is an iconic cartoon bear that has a long and steady history of trying to teach children some grace, kindness and respect for their fellow peers. Some of the history of this friendly bear began when the main human character named Christopher Milne named his stuffed toy bear after a Canadian black bear named Winnie that he often came across at London Zoo. Winnie was also short for his hometown of Winnipeg Canada.
Although Winnie the Pooh history is littered with name changes they finally did decide on the short but effective Pooh in the end. Poohs world is the forest in which he is surrounded by many of his friends including the excitable Tigger, Piglet and many other characters of the forest that offer him advice in different manners whenever he is stuck in a quandary. Poohs philosophical nature lends itself to him mulling over each problem until he comes up with a satisfactory answer that will please all involved.
The history of Poohs message has always been one of tolerance and substance when it comes to being a true friend./ He teaches the youngest children how important it is to mull over an issue until the one that seems the most morally correct presents itself. It is of utmost importance to Pooh to always act honorably towards his friends and loved ones and that is the message he has successfully carried to millions of children over the years.
