Winnie the Pooh has been such a great favorite among kids of all ages for decades, and the movies are still very much loved. Have a birthday party for your little one with the Winnie the Pooh theme, along with a special showing of one or more of the Winnie the Pooh movies.

While waiting for show time, the kids can color in Winnie the Pooh coloring books. They can play with clay and easily create Winnie. They might have a little play with their newly created clay toys. Some of the kids might be creative enough to mold characters other than the pooh bear, such as Tigger and Piglet.

If it’s a lunch party, the kids can break for a tasty and healthy lunch outdoors. And when show time rolls around, be sure to provide them with Pooh cups, plates and napkins for their cookies, and other snacks.

Christopher Robin first created the pooh bear in 1924, and it appeared in a poem called Teddy Bear in the children’s book “When We Were Young.” He finally appeared by name on Christmas Eve, 1925 in a children’s Christmas story, which was published by The Evening News in London. In 1932, he first appeared drawn in color with his red shirt. And by the 1940’s the stuffed animal was created wearing this red shirt. By 1961, the character was licensed to Walt Disney Studios, and the rest is history.

”The Tigger Movie,” “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie,” and “Piglet’s Big Movie” might be just the ones to start out this Winnie the Pooh movie marathon. The kids will adore these stories. If shorter films are preferred, you can show the television series, which came out in 2005 entitled “My Friends Tigger and Pooh.”

A cute addition to your party supply list might be Winnie the Pooh figurines or small plush toys to give out to the kids as party favors.
